What can I say about Mary Star of the Sea Elementary (MSSE), really there are no words that could describe how my family feels for this school and even for the parish, but I will try. Family is one word that comes to my mind, from the moment our son started Kinder we new we made the right choice. The faculty does not only care for the children, but genuinely loves them. Families of other students have through the years become our family. Everyone is looking out for everyone else constantly. Of course being at a Catholic school our son's very grounded in his religious beliefs and very comfortable in knowing God. Academically they shine constantly with the students who leave MSSE. Recently, I was told that when a MSSE student enters High School they transition perfectly because of the preparations the teachers have instilled on our children at MSSE.

Mary Star Elementary is an excellent school that all three of my children have attended. It is not the only school, due to a child with learning disabilities, but I will say that they went above and beyond to do everything they could to accommodate my child. This school has a wonderful family atmosphere where parents are asked to be involved. The staff knows almost all the kids on a first name basis and are very good about keeping the parents informed. Whether it's academics or behavior, I know what is going on with my children. Whenever there was an issue, I felt that it was dealt with in a fair manner. In one instance, my child was being bullied and the staff handled the problem very quickly and the problem stopped. I would recommend this school to anyone looking for a smaller, family-friendly atmosphere.

I have been so amazed with the staff and education my son has received at Mary Star. Year after year he continues to receive an education that is curriculum and religious strong. The communication from teachers and staff has been excellent when any situation needs my attention. I also love the fact the children are in the presence of priest and nuns on a regular basis which really brings back the tradition of Catholic Schools and teaches them about the Order. My son is so happy and I would recommend this private school to anyone.

Strong Academics, qualified professional faculty and a truly Catholic atmoshere. Our child is reading and writing at high school level and excelling in Algebra. The students and the staff care about the students which is evident by the after school homework program and the faculty attendance at extracurricular activities! The Sports program improves every year and last year our boys won 2nd in the Archdiocese of Los Angeles! The volunteer coaches are committed and care about teamwork and sporsmanship. I highly recommend Mary Star!
