A more dedicated staff of teachers I have not seen in many years. They are all top notch and committed to student achievement.

This a a small but wonderful school. The principal is very involved with the students and responds promptly to any parent needs/concerns. The teachers here are wonderful - some impact the students in such positive ways that they will be remembered for an eternity. Most of the work is done in school - not too much comes home. Options for band and other extra curricular activities are available. There is a no-bullying policy at this school and all of East Penn School District - the school takes this very seriously. Test scores are high - there is instructional support for kids who need a little help. Great place for kids to grow up.

Jefferson is a great community school. There are many excellent dedicated teachers who have been there many years. There is an active PTO, and a lot of community involvement. All the East Penn schools are excellent academically, and offer lots of activities. A plus for Jefferson is it's small, and will stay small because it is in town, so growth is limited, unlike the sprawl in the rest of the district. Maybe the only negative is there has been a string of principals in the last few years. But the teachers and parents have managed to keep a strong feeling of cohesiveness, in spite of that.

They could be doing much more to earn money by collecting more then just BoxTops & Soup Labels. There are Capri Sun Drink Pouches, Used cell phones, laptops, empty ink/toner cartridges. They should look at TerraCycling.com What is PTA REALLY doing?

It is great to teach our kids to give to others-within limits. Support without demanding! I boycott school fundraisers; donate elsewhere to show real value in helping where needed.

From the asking perspective (such as schools asking students to donate to causes) frequent appeals for donations creates real problems for families who cannot afford to donate to every appeal or cause. Stop pressuring kids for money.
