Academically challenging ... spritually grounded ... diverse staff and student body ... rich music and arts program ... excellent athletic tradition!

This school gets better each month. Kids support each other, academics are superb, technology is the best in the Bay Area. Religious values are inclusive and helpful to kids.

I graduated in 2007. I must say that I love O'Dowd. Besides college, O'Dowd years have been the best of my life. I met my best friends, was envolved in the athletics program, drama, as well as student government. There has been some concern regarding the egocetrism of the students at O'Dowd..GET OVER IT!!...high school is only a microcosm of any given society, especially at O'Dowd where the demographics are diverse. The curriculum is chellenging, so if you are a slacker, you might not like the school. Also, it is very hard to NOT find friends at O'Dowd. Even the shyest, quietest people had at least one person to talk to. Over all the school is great and I would like for my kids to go there one day. M. McFarland
My child is an average-slightly below average student and has been at BOD HS for 2 years now. She loves the school overall, the people, teachers, athletics, etc. She simply struggles acedemically and has been frustrated as a result. Although, I must say I have found a great support system there with the counselors, the new special needs counselor and the staff overall. They have all been amazing. The school offers so many great resources and programs for all students of every level that it is all up to the parents and the students themselves if they CHOOSE to succeed. I imagine this is the same in any school environment - how much do you really want to suceed? How much effort are you willing to put in? If you are dedicated and want to do well the help is there for you at BOD.
