I could not be happier with Chico Christian School. My daughter started attending Chico Christian Preschool the day she turned 2. We were so impressed with the staff and the education she was getting that we decided to continue her at the school. She is now in 2nd grade and I can say that I have been thankful every day for my choice. While public schools are cutting electives, CCS is always adding new ones. The teachers and the principal are remarkable. They are all warm, approachable, and truly care for the students and their families. I am impressed regularly with the service projects available to the students. My daughter only benefits from the joy of helping others. We are not a very religious family, and even though it is a Christian school, I do not feel that it is forced upon us. Yes it is part of the curriculum, but they present it in a way that is accepting instead of judging. Not once have I felt l uncomfortable with what was being taught, nor have I felt like we were judged for not going to church. I would highly recommend CCS!

My son has been attending CCS since second grade and he will be going into 7th this year. When I was researching different schools, I was most impressed with CCS's electives. Their technology class is top knotch. What the kids end up knowing by the time they leave CCS will blow your mind! Not to mention all the other electives, on top of the EXCELLENT curriculum they provide. The teachers are loving and truly care. The class sizes are small (avg 20 students). Due to all the California cutbacks as well as a million other reasons, there is no way I would consider putting my child anywhere else than CCS.

My son, who is in the 6th grade now, has been attending Chico Christian since pre-school, and we could not be more blessed!! The teachers and staff are wonderful and so willing in every area to ensure a partnershiip with the parents and their children. My son also does very well academically. CCS provides the state standards, but also goes beyond that to ensure a successful student for high school. I cannot think of one area that I am not pleased with! I LOVE this school, the staff, and all the academics that are offered. We just wish it continued on to high school!!

Chico Christian School has excellent teachers and dedicated staff. All teachers are credentialed and their of love children and teaching is evident on a daily basis. My son has not only received a top-notch education he has had the opportunity to develop his character and practice his talents. CCS offers something for everybody: technology, performing arts, sports, fine arts, in addition to the basics of reading, writing, math, social studies, and science. All of this with a committment to excellence and educating the whole child. The level of parental involvement is amazing and CCS goes above and beyond to meet the individual needs of each student attending the school. I love that the students also provide support to the Chico community and beyond whether it is singing at an assisted living facility, donating books to those less fortunate, providing food for the homeless, supporting missionaries, or sending shoes to Mexico these students really are a reflection of the character traits and values that are modeled and encouraged everyday!

We test kids at the end of the year and beginning. Kids that don't keep up during the summer take a giant step backwards. If our kids do complain about homework, we ask them,"Do you want to work for a company, or own the company?"

No. Let the children have a break. Let their minds focus on being children. They'll have plenty of homework when they go back to school. I would not even consider enforceing summer homework for my children. They need stress free playtime.

Yes. Of course summer is for fun however they can take a brake from homework 2 weeks or so, not the whole summer. If you teach a child the importance of learing they will enjoy the homework even in the summer.
