Baker Elementary School

We love Baker! It is a great school. When I drop my kids off in the morning, I know they are safe, they are learning new and great things, and that they are with people that really care about them. The faces I see daily are so familair to me, the waves, the 'hello's', the 'good mornings' are very genuine. Baker has the BEST prinicipal-Mr. Durniak..who else leads such a wonderful group of staff, is an educator, and can play a guitar and takes the time to sing with his students. Ms. Greene is the best!! and Baker has the best PTA. Someone is always available to parents. Lastly, Baker has the most involved, caring, dedicated fathers, and other male role models ever!! We love out Watchdogs!! What other school has all of these great qualities. My kids teachers Ms. Hill really helped my daughter shine this year.

my son was placed in two different classes in the first 8 weeks of school and then a very quick meeting was called and we discovered my son needed special ed and a smaller class setting. Leslie Gillie was the teacher assigned. This woman is awesome at what she does, my son came home to share what he had learned and had me in tears calling everyone. My son has DiGeorge syndrome, a rarely recognized disorder, making it hard to treat because he is the only case they have at this school. Ms.Gillie and her assistants are wonderful women. They have made such an impact on my son and teach him such loving and valuable qualities. My hats off to these women! I owe you my life. Principal Durniak has always remained involved and knows us all on a first name basis.A very close knit family.
