The teachers are awesome, the classes are great learning enviorments, and the whole system makes you think insted of just droning on and on. It's a really wonderful school.
Katherine Anne porter promotes the arts as well as regular curriculum. They promote education not look at it as if it us just a state checklist of things to do.
this is the best school i have ever been to, the teachers have a better communication than other schools, because the classes are a lot smaller than isds
I can't say enough good things about this school. I was nervous because it seems to attract kids who don't function well in traditional high school environments (or have been kicked out!), and while that applies to some, there are also a lot of very creative, unique kids. It's a very strong community with a lot of school spirit. The teachers are unbelievably dedicated, and the administrators are involved and helpful. Quality of education depends largely on the efforts of the child and parents. They have amazing classes and a lot of great learning pportunities, so if a kid doesn't come out prepared for college, it's not the school's fault. If you're an involved parent with a child who wants to succeed and grow in an environment where it's safe to be what you are, KAPS is ideal.
