Sweetwater Elementary School rocks. They have the best teachers in Douglas county by far. My child was unable to attend school for the most part while growing up. However Sweetwater did a great job while she was in Elementary School. They gave her a safe place to attend school, due to her fatal latex allergy.
My concern for this schools sagging achievement data has been verified. After a great Kindergarten experience at this school, we have been severely disappointed with the lack of challenging work from our son's 1st grade teacher. We have had several communications with the teacher only to have the same work with no assistance from the school leadership. Teaching to the middle seems to be the constant for this school, but this is not accpetable to us. Our child will be at another school next year.
This school and all of it's leadership should be investigated and reprimanded. There is a lot going on that I am not satisfied with. My students have gotten what seems worst as the year has gone on because of the lack of discipline with the 'bad' students. And of course this distracts my students from learning which should be the number one expectation.
I have 2 children currently attending SES. The principal there is wonderful and she truly cares about the students and their familys. The school is clean and well kept. The teachers are excellent and my boys are learning so much!
