I have two children in this school and I can't say enough great things about the staff, teachers, office staff and the principal. Mrs. Hunter (principal) is so involved with the students and puts forth an enormous amount of time an effort along with all of the faculty at Assawompset. We feel very lucky to have our children in this school. This is a wonderful community to live in!

I'm *extremely* pleased with every aspect of this school, from the principal, down thru the teachers, to the office workers. I currently have two children attending this school and a third who left to enter fourth grade. The teachers at this school truly care for their students and go above and beyond to help their students out. The only negative I have is when my oldest had to leave to attend fourth grade, I was truly saddened to see her leave such a great learning atmosphere. I also want to give kudos to the parents; I have never seen so many parents volunteer and be a part of any school. Great job guys!

I currently have two children attending Assawompsett. Only fault I see is classroom size, 24 students in class. The teachers I have dealt with were very easy to get in touch and have gone the extra mile I believe to help my children academically achieve. Title 1 reading program is a five star.

I go in every Monday and help with the Kindergarten reading group or play word games. Then I eat lunch with my child. I also attend and bring things to all school parties. Since I volunteer only on Mondays I do not burn out. : )

Our school gives us mandatory hours (15) that we must give to the school in one way or the other. It is very easy if you don't mind stuffing envelopes or being a lunch mom. I think they even give working moms the opportunities to work on paperwork.... More »
