My granddaughter attends WW Intermediate School, and she loves it. She is always tellng me about something she learned in school. She looks forward to attending and I am encouraged by her enthusiasm.

I recently had some educational concerns at my child's school. I contacted the Principal by phone, on the same day I received a phone call back to come in and discuss my concerns. I did make my visit on the same day as my initial phone call to the principal , by this same evening my concerns were answered. I received phone calls from the teachers and they addressed my concerns and shared with me the best time to contact them if I had further concerns. We all conducted ourselves in a positive, professional manner. Communication works at Winton Woods Intermediate School.

My children attend Winton Woods City Schools. My eldest daughter was bullied all last year. Principals and teachers were contacted over and over again and nothing was done for it. She is in the intermediate building this year and is having problems with her teachers. She is failing and the teachers have not tried to get in contact with me about it. Just got the progress report and was highly upset. My other daughter is not reading or writing at her grade level. She is being helped with the tutor, but is really not getting the progress that we would like to see. Disappointing from when I went there. Hopefully they will get there act together for the student coming up the next few years. I am looking to leave the school district.

They could be doing much more to earn money by collecting more then just BoxTops & Soup Labels. There are Capri Sun Drink Pouches, Used cell phones, laptops, empty ink/toner cartridges. They should look at TerraCycling.com What is PTA REALLY doing?

It is great to teach our kids to give to others-within limits. Support without demanding! I boycott school fundraisers; donate elsewhere to show real value in helping where needed.

From the asking perspective (such as schools asking students to donate to causes) frequent appeals for donations creates real problems for families who cannot afford to donate to every appeal or cause. Stop pressuring kids for money.
