This school is a good example of a small school caring about kids and my children have benefited from this. There is hope that the new administrator will bring progressive changes and overcome the attitude of 'that's the way we've always done it (see other comment). That might be a typical drawback of small schools. Some teachers really are 'there for the kids' which may be one of the reasons why they get so many school of choice kids. They need to vamp up the curriculum for more choices and more challenges - too reliant on the online courses. One last note: many students go to good colleges after graduating and are successful.

This school is small and in a rural area. The 2008 school year has begun with a new principal/superintendent. The outgoing superintendent was less than a positive experience for the students/parents. The hope is that though small, the new principal/superintendent will make positive new changes, This school's motto for years has been 'that's the way we have always done it' change is good. The children need to be on par for their futures. The lunch program is awful and many children complain. Gym is only 2 days a week for elementary and music is only one day a week and the music appears to be only singing, not other forms of music. The elementary gym teacher is only a few years out of college but the children say they are board. Hopefully these areas can be changed as well.

Some good teachers who genuinely care about the kids you are absolutely nothing if you don't play sports...and even if you do..you are not guaranteed playing time unless you have the right last name. The nepotism at this school is beyond belief. If you child requests to leave the community for college...grant him/her that wish.
my freshman daughter has only been going to superior since the middle of feb. I like the school so far and so does she. I do not like having to get her grades online because it not updated regularly and reports are not accurate. However, since michigan has school of choice superior is worth the drive and it has a better rating than gwinn which is closer.
