I absolutely love Garner school and am sorry and suprised at experiences others have had here. When we moved to clio, my children were suppose to attend Lacure elementary but there 3rd grade was full so my two third graders were sent to Garner. I was upset at first, but it was for the best. My son has some learning problems/anger problems and his has been nothing but successful! His teachers (speech, special ed, regular classroom teacher) and this kids report card went for all D's and E's to ALL A's, B's, and C's. My daughter on the other hand is an all A student and she remained an all A student. When 4th grade came I was worried they would move them to Lacure and voiced my concern with my son doing so well. I was so happy when they continued to shuttle bus them to garner.
I can not say enough great things about Garner! We moved to our dream house out in the clio country, but I have heard so many horror stories about clio schools. After enrolling my daughter in the Lacure Developmental kindergarten program, which was a complete nightmare, I asked to be transfered to Edgerton after viewing the school. It was like a private school in a public school setting. Unfortuneatly we could not go there, as their kindergarten numbers were too high. So after speaking with Mike Lytle, the Garner principal, and viewing Mrs. Pearce's class, I was honored to have my daughter attend Garner, which also offers a private education type setting. Mrs. Pearce afternoon kindergarten is where my daughter was placed, and we could not have a more dedicated, nuturing, and respectful teacher. Garner is a wonderful school, we plan to keep her there for her entire elementary career.
