Great school and great staff!! you cannot go wrong sending your child here for a great quality education!!

My daughter has attended Lakeside for the past four years. Previously my 19 year old son had attended. We love Lakeside! However, I am not surprised about the test scores. It takes a lot of involvement with the school teachers and administration and parents - therein lies the problem. The parents of Lakeside cannot complain if they do not step up and get involved in their children's education. The principal is top-notch and couldn't do any better than he has and the teachers are all striving hard to make sure all the children get the edcuation they all need to succeed. There are no extracurricular activities but without the support of the parents there never will be. So therefore, the school (Mr. Monroe and his staff) receive 5 stars! Parent involvement receives one star. If you are wondering I have been room mom several years and sit on the PTA board.

I have a 1st grader there and he is doing excellent. I was very hesitant to send him because of the low test scores and he was coming from a private school, but now I am pleasantly surprised. I love Mr. Monroe, the new principle. He really wants to see the kids succeed and does everything he can to make that happen. The teachers are all very caring and involved with the kids. The school is doing a great job with getting the parents and kids involved in their education. I am very happy with the school and would recommend it to anyone who is looking for a great education for their child.

I was shocked by the low test scores that are reported on this site for Lakeside Elementary School. Our child is a second grade student at Lakeside Elementary and has attended this school for three years. We couldn't be more pleased with the progress we have seen in our child and the amount of caring, attention and respect that the faculty upholds and instills in these children. The former principal knew every child by name and was always very visible to parents, faculty as well as the students. The new principal, Lenore Williams, is nothing but positive and upbeat and has demonstrated that she has every intention of carrying on the legacy of excellence and dedication of her predecessors. It is my opinion that the curriculum of Lakeside Elementary School is on target for giving children the solid base of fundamentals needed for their educational development and strives to raise the bar.
