My daughter has attended Belgrade High School for 3 years now and I think this is a great school. She had a rough start to her high school years...she had poor grades and started getting in trouble, etc. The couselors and principals worked with me to pull her out of this and as a Junior she is taking AP classes and has become a gracious and respectful young woman. I think this is a fine high school and I am thankful for the teachers. I had a miserable high school experience in Bozeman, and I am glad my daughter is in Belgrade schools.
i am currently going to this school and i think the teachers are okay. the major problem here is the students, probably about half of them are on drugs and everyone is very narrow minded. no tolerance for other cultures.
I am saddened as I read the reviews of Belgrade High School. My children go there and I can see that we are not alone in how we feel about Belgrade High's academic and athletic programs. I do not feel that Belgrade works to connect with all of its students to help find and reach their true potentials. The students are just expected to flow through the system and figure things out for themselves. They do not seem to get much guidance. Program options seem to be getting fewer instead of more as you would expect since the school is the 'fastest growing' as we keep getting told. The Belgrade School board needs to step up and problem solve.
Belgrade High Schools leave a lot to be desired. Although I do have to admit that it is slightly better than it was a couple of years ago. Unfortunately even the administration doesn't like to stick around. The choice of academic programs is limited. After school activities are also limited. Unless your child is a genius, a hardcore sports player or has money it is not as easy for them to fit in with the rest of the school. Also, we have found that most students are anglo and many in the area are not accepting of other cultures. There is quite a bit of discrimination in this area and our children do suffer for it. If you have a choice...Bozeman is better I hear. Test scores are better, more available for the children and they have outstanding alternative programs.
