I am a military wife and mother of three, who has experienced many schools, administrations, and teachers in the last nine years. Both of my sons were honor students and very enthusiastic about school through most of elementary. We recently lived in the D.C./ Maryland area where both of them attended an on base middle school which also allowed civilian children to attend. During those two years I dealt with racism, bullying, and teachers who would not even return my calls. I finally came back home to J.C. this year and enrolled my 13 yr. old son in the Middle School. His whole personality, drive, and willingness to succeed has finally started to come back. The administration has been patient, kind, and very informative as to their agenda, which allows them to follow him from this year to graduation. This school has changed our lives for the better!

Violence is not being addressed properly.Students who attack other students should be expelled for the entire school year, not just a week or two. concerned mother

This school gives the appearance of a large building, but it's an illusion. There are too many students, not enough classrooms. Too many students, not enough teachers. Classrooms are packed. There are some good teachers here, who are willing to go the extra mile and reach out to those students in need. However, there are also some, who just come to work to put in their time. Discipline at this school seems wishy washy. For example, today's offense which is punished, may not be punished tomorrow...or an offense that results in an afterschool detention today, may not tomorrow. There are nemerous and frivolous rules and regulations in the handbook in regard to classroom behavior, and dress code. Some of them are quite comical. Once again, none of these 'rules' are routinely enforced. Basically, from my observation, it appears that the students 'run' this school.
