This schools need to undergo an audit. Nice looking on the outside. But, lacking structure on the inside and this is starting with the Principle.
I think swainsboro is a wonderful town to raise a child in but as far as the school/education system goes....I cannot say the same. I, myself was raised in the public schools my entire life in jacksonville, florida and was extremely lucky to have a great school system but unfortunately, i am having to move my son totally out of this state in order to get him a good education. The town itself is very nice but i don't feel like the schools in swainsboro prepare the kids for 'reality' out in the real world! my son still has two more years of school left and i'm praying that i can salvage his education by moving him to a better school system.

SHS was a great environment to be in and I do miss the people. I was very active in sports, clubs, and music. Academically, it s pretty good but I don't think I was prepared for college. Its not enough to give the work/assignments students need guidance as well for life after SHS. Luckily I had parents who went to college to guide me about great schools and career choices. I was lucky; not everyone has that. We need to get students thinking outside the box and out of that small town syndrome. SHS step your game up. There is a career exploratory class in middle school, but why not high school! Each yr. students need to take a career/college prep class whether they want to go or not to help in the transition to college or the workforce. We need to better groom our future.
