I love, love, love this school. My oldest daughter went to 3rd - 5th grade here and my youngest has been here for K - 4th so far. I love the freedom of religion the children and teachers may express. It is a lovely learning environment. This is a special school.

My daughter is finishing first grade this year. She has been academically ahead of her peers since she started Kinder & I don't feel like her teachers have ever given her extension activities. They either feel like she already knows it, so they overlook her, or they use her as a peer tutor, & let her guide her own learning. No 7 year old, no matter how mature, can be the guide of their own curriculum.

Goforth has some extra opportunities, but only for a very small segment of the school . Tried to encourage good behavior by awarding Good Character Award(called Goforth Treasure), a yard sign to be place in the child's yard, but sign didn't indicate Good Character traits, just 'I'm a Goforth Treasure'. There are awards for art and science fair(not actively encouraged), but other awards are only given at the end of the school year. Another child attended a school that had a variety of awards recognizing achievement and including many students based on their interests/strengths and learning ability. Culture here is to only recognize the top students and not recognize each student for improvement. Staff labels kids.

Wonderful school. My daughter is on her 4th year here and my son will be starting his first year. They are very strict on security and run the office very tight. Teachers are great. Staff is very nice and accomodating. Every time I have visite the school it has been clean and kept in orderly fashion! Good Job!

Anything on the weekend is too much. Kids need "family and church" time too! 1 hour a night past the age 10 is fine, 30 minutes or less before.
