Our children spent two years each at this school. We were quite disappointed, especially after there was a change in Head of School. The school is supposed to be just for dyslexic students, but there were so many different special education needs children mixed in who had more complicated conditions that the classroom was too chaotic for children to learn. Behavioral issues disrupted every class. We took out kids out and found better options.

This school saved my child! It is an amazing school with great leadership and caring, gifted and accountable teachers that make sure your child succeeds, thrives and reaches their potential. I love CAS and will always be grateful to them. My daughter attended 6th through 8th grade and has flourished. She has been on the honor roll every quarter and really loves learning now. Although this school is expensive and we don't have alot of money, it was worth every dime and then some. Best decision we ever made and you can write it off on your taxes.

The Charles Armstrong School in Belmont, CA is one of the best schools in the United States for dyslexic learners. This is a life changing school! Any child that gets to attend Charles Armstrong School is one of the luckiest children in the US. CAS has small classes maximum 18 students per class, small group instruction for over 2.5 hours per day . It is a caring, nurturing environment, art, music, p/e, sports, theater, movement, lots of personalization, lots of young energetic staff. The school teaches advocacy skills for dyslexic students. Students are nice and well behaved. It is a non-competitive environment where children will learn using multi-sensory techniques. CAS uses Wilson Fundations for reading and writing. If your child is dyslexic run to this school!!!!

It doesn't get better than this if you have a dyslexic learner. Fantastic, caring teachers. Head of School is completely available to parents and students. Individualized instruction to take your child where they are at with complete focus on closing the gap. Solid programs to teach children their style of learning, how their brain works and most importantly that they are not stupid. This school is a gift to our family.

They could be doing much more to earn money by collecting more then just BoxTops & Soup Labels. There are Capri Sun Drink Pouches, Used cell phones, laptops, empty ink/toner cartridges. They should look at TerraCycling.com What is PTA REALLY doing?

It is great to teach our kids to give to others-within limits. Support without demanding! I boycott school fundraisers; donate elsewhere to show real value in helping where needed.

From the asking perspective (such as schools asking students to donate to causes) frequent appeals for donations creates real problems for families who cannot afford to donate to every appeal or cause. Stop pressuring kids for money.
