The teachers do a great job, considering their funding compared to the Abbott Districts, and the fact that many parents are uninvolved. Mrs. Kenny is the bomb. There are good and bad teachers everywhere. The superintendent is wonderful and the new principal is a great guy who was a fantastic math teacher for many years. Do not pay attention to this rating. Parental involvement is what makes all the difference. My son graduated from BES and had no difficulty competing with the best in the county at Communications High School. I felt very safe leaving my kids with Dr. Richens at the helm.

I have two children. My oldest has attended the pk program and is now in kindergarten. I have been very happy with her experience at belmar. Her pk teacher, mrs. Glab was excellent. She is now reading and i love that she receives classes in computers, art and music. I also have a child with an autism spectrum disorder. He is in the special needs program and is doing very well. I am thrilled with the progress he is making.

I go in every Monday and help with the Kindergarten reading group or play word games. Then I eat lunch with my child. I also attend and bring things to all school parties. Since I volunteer only on Mondays I do not burn out. : )

Our school gives us mandatory hours (15) that we must give to the school in one way or the other. It is very easy if you don't mind stuffing envelopes or being a lunch mom. I think they even give working moms the opportunities to work on paperwork.... More »
