I attended CAHS since my sophomore year and I love it. I do feel, however, that the faculty does focus a bit too much on athletics rather than general education and fine arts.
I have seen my 3 children graduate from Carl Albert. It was always an excellent school with heavy emphasis on academics. My children were not into sports but that did not matter in the least. Through the years I have seen Mrs. Kirk evolve from head of the history department to vice-principal to principal. She has always been excellent at whatever job she has done, strict but flexible. I also had a few foster kids go through the school with problems that were unique to their situation and I have always found a willing ear in Mrs. Kirk whenever I needed to get advice on how to handle their problems.

Most of the teachers are great at their jobs. If your child does not play a sport, they will be treated differently than the those who do play.

Parents on here talk of 'focus on only athletics', and 'other students on here have bad grammar', but what they fail to take into consideration when writing their reveiw, is that they themselves have never truly experienced CAHS. Carl Albert truthfully is far from meeting the standards of schools such as Edmond North, or Putnam City North, but for this area, there is no better choice! The school size is just right- it's easy to get to know majority of the school. Plus, in the two years that I've attended CAHS, it gets better and more involved every year. I think Carl Albert is a great school compared to Midwest City or Del City, so if you live in the district, theres no doubt that it is your best bet!
