My child thrives in Windrush's hollistic aproach. AS he entered Kindergarten, we were a bit worried about the transition from a small number of children to a larger venue, as our child could be shy. Well, we no longer worry. Windrush made the transition seemless and had small student to teacher ratios (9-1!). Plus, by allowing the two kindergarten classes join together for certain activities (reccess, lunch, movement, Spanish, etc.) and with their wonderful after school program, our child has blossomed in self-confidence. Windrush has a pledge to include diversity in their school -- both ethnic and social-class -- and their tuition assistance program is the only way we could have ever gotten our child in. The only quibble I have with Windrush is the lack of hot lunches. They don't have a kitchen or cafeteria, but that's not enough to knock a full star off. Let's say 4.5.
Windrush has been a good school for my daughter, but i am taking here out to go to king for 8th grade. I feel that a privet school can not do as much for her and by then, with all the small clases the kids are tierd of each other.

Windrush School has it all - great teachers, challenging academics, as well as engaging art, music, and afterschool programs. The small classes and beautiful campus are also nice. With new construction they will have a larger library and middle school too!

Windrush is a great place for a gifted child -- no teaching to the test so creativity and independent thinking encouraged. Windrush has just hired a fantastic new head of school who will be heading up the school next year. Windrush has a great school community. Although there are some exceptions, most kids there seem to love it.
