A perfect balance. This school is just what I was looking for. An urban school with a mixed student population, highly involved parents and dynamic leadership. The principal is in his 2nd year and has brought, energy and new ideas to what was already a pretty good school. There are now 4 teachers at the school who have achieved National Board certification (out of only 18 classroom teachers in the whole school). Parents have conducted beautification initiatives throughout the school (paint, student projects, etc.) and are fundraising with enthusiasm. Best of all, my children (both of whom are reading well above grade level) love their teachers and we have made friendships with parents and teachers that I hope will last a long time.

This school provides an environment in which my child can grow, learn and express himself. The school has a very warm and friendly feel and the administration is responsive to parents. There are some very active parents and it feels like there is a lot of momentum towards making this school excellent. It is currently a math and science magnet cluster.

my children attended audubon school for a short time. The children ate in the basement ,the bathrooms were dirty, when you walk in the walls are a disgusting vomit peach color.......need i go on? My children did not want to go their, I hated leaving them their I never once had that warm safe feeling that I was leaving them with teachers who were passionate about their professions.oh, the play ground is a fabulous slab of concrete that is blistering hot in the sun .

This school is a place to thrive. The principal and teachers are the best. My son is special needs and in Kindergarten. The principal stepped right up and welcomed us and gave such a specific and sophisticated team to give my son tools to succeed. I researched two other great CPS schools before moving into the district and could not have made a better choice. The best After School Program you will ever know. The genuine smiling of the office staff to the dedication of all. The enthusiasm of the parents, students and staff is contagious. Audubon Parent Amy C.
