Both of my children attend Big Creek and I couldn't be more pleased with the education they are receiving. Sure, it's not a brand new school like some other schools in the district, but its teachers are among the best, the most dedicated, and genuinely care about "their" kids. The parents are very involved and keep a finger on the pulse of what's happening at their school so it is very difficult for any poor experience to fall through the cracks, which is great. The PTA is an award-winning PTA, has lots of volunteers, and does a LOT for the school. One of my kids is in Horizons (gifted program) and I am grateful that he is getting special attention and education. Overall, if you have the opportunity to get into this school, you should jump at the chance.

The school is academically very advanced. However, as a Forsyth County School, the school is starting so early than other counties. Kids are waking up very sleepy, and even no enough time for breakfast or to being awake. They are going to school very tired. Further, the school has an unspoken policy like other Forsyth Schools that If your kids have a ADHD or OCD, and their grades are not so bad, they are not giving any extra help (EIP,Learning lab, speech therapy or ESOL), and waiting your kids'grades are to be less than average even you have a 2 doctor's note. So it is like doctors waiting patient to be dead and after that trying to diagnose. But school is academically vert very good. Usually mothers are not working and their involment is more than other schools .

I have 2 children who are in this top-rated school and we just LOVE Big Creek Elementary School. The teachers are truly dedicated to the children and work so hard with the children to ensure that they are developing academically and socially. The strong parents' involvement makes this school unique as well. Big Creek Elementary School is so successful because it has an excellent leadership team in place. Both the Principal and Vice Principal are always available to meet with me whenever I have any concerns or questions (of course, I do make advance appts with them). The teacher in charge of the Horizon program at this school is AMAZING! She manages to motivate my son into expanding his reading list - something that I have been very unsuccessful in. My son has always refused to read any other books apart from Magic Treehouse, and so I am deeply grateful and thankful to Big Creek Horizon teacher for her help.

Big Creek Elementary is one of the highest rated school in Georgia, thanks to hard work and dedication of the teachers and administrators. At the same time, Big Creek does need to get kids involved in more technology, math, science competitions. We are very proactive when it comes to celebration, rewards, sports, literaure, language, and charities. That's great. Same kind of resolve needs towards math, science, engineering, and technology. We lacks the focus on engineering and science, and that is evident in Big Creek Elementary. We are on bottom in education in USA, which means we, Big Creek stake-holders are on bottom too. Without new shift in our attitude we will hurt our kids whom we love most. GA is under-represented in top colleges, top-postions in big firms, and top inventors in USA. There is some cause & effect relationship here. This is not a random situation. We, elementary school parents and educators have only 7 to 11 years left to do justice to our college-bound kids. GA needs a revolution in education to qulify our kids in global competition, and it needs to start at elementary level. Yes, I am proud that my kid goes to Big Creek Elementary.
