I'm glad to see a more recent review of Berry Intermediate School. We had a restructuring of our district in 2004 and many things have changed since that time. The building is old, there's no A/C, but the current principals and staff make such a positive impact on the students and do everything they can to make it a positive environment. I only heard my child mention the heat a few times last year. We have a wonderful PTO that puts together many fun, free events for everyone to enjoy. The work they put in is greatly appreciated! This building houses all of the 5th and 6th graders in the Lebanon City Schools, some of the best teachers, and the most wonderful principals that we've encountered in the district (out of 9 that we've worked with!). Keep up the great work!
We just moved here and we love it. The teachers have been superb! Communication excellent. You will have no suprises here, the teacher keep you informed daily. My son is shy and the teachers have went out of their way to help him make friends and feel at home here. I highly recommend this school. Quality of education is excellent. They could use some more extracurricular activities. They have choir and music easily available. It is during an elective study hall. The school could use some updating also, which I think is in the planning stages. Wonderful community. No bully problems either.
I do not currently have a student at this school but have had 3 attend and currently have nieces and nephews that attend. I feel that this school is entirely to old to be used as a middle school. It is either very hot/very cold (the opposite of what is needed for the season. It depresses me when I pick up a student to think that they must attend this school for 8 hours a day sometimes more. The district even took the football field which use to give some pride to the Berry students and converted it to soccer. This is fine but they should be able to use it also. The times that I have been there the kids have been rude and disorderly - I realize this is some of the 'age group'. I am so thankful for the levys but have heard they plan to still use the school. The safety of this building to me would have to be questionable!
If you have a child with learning disabilities you are in for a big disappointment. We are considering very strongly about taking our kids out.
