I am a parent of a student who is currently in Cummings Middle School (2008-2009). I had 2 other children who attended Cummings also. The teachers care very much about their students and try to get the students involved in activities that not only promote education but also promote social skills and citizenship. Many children who attend this school come from dysfunctional families and/or economically disadvantaged situations. These students are starved for attention. The teachers, administration, and staff do a lot to reach these students. I had my child transferred INTO this school for this very reason.
This is an amazing school! I was recently a student there @ cumming sand had the best time of my teensge years! The security guards,teachers and staff are alwayz there when u need them, and alwayz have the students best interest at heart!
This schools` TAKS scores are some of the lowest in its district. Teachers and security guards do not have the students` best interests at heart, and many students cut class and go to the zoo, or the park!
Alot of the teachers and guards do not pay attention to their students. Yes in school but teacher and other staff members need to be encouraged to help in the lives of their students. Family life is carried into the school and children can be corrupted in school because of this reason.
