School highlights:
Excellent school, we feel so lucky to be sending out treasured children to Midway Elementary!!!
I would highly recommend Midway Elementary to anyone moving to the area who is looking for a top notch elementary school. My children have attended for three years and love school! It is a very open and friently environment that welcomes parents' help and participation. The principal even knows every child's name. From academics, extra curricular activities and special events, you won't find a better school in the Anderson area.
I truly think that Midway is a great school. My daughter loves Mr. Bruhjell and for the most part really loves her teachers. However, the one thing I would change is when you are dealing with a seperated family, the school has a tendancy to treat the parent without guardianship like a convicted felon. After discussion this can be remedied, but at first it makes a parent not want to come to this establishment to visit their child.
Midway is an amazing school! The faculty and staff are very friendly and go out of their way to make everyone feel welcome. The teachers maintain high expectations for students while creating a pleasant learning atmosphere. The school has received many awards including the Exemplary Writing Award, Red Carpet Award, Literacy Spot Award, and Palmetto Gold Incentive Awards. Truly an outstanding school.
Midway is an excellent school. The principal is a man and has been there since its beginning---4 years. Your child would be priveledged to go to Midway. It has never been a poorly rated school and has only recieved tops on all scores and remarks. I do not know if the other rater is talking about the right school!
The principal of Midway Elementary is not a woman. It is a man. I am not sure this parent's child actually attends Midway if they do not know who the principal is. In addition, Midway has never been a poorly rated school. From the day it opened it had a community base of professional parents with advanced degrees and successful business owners. These students have had some of the highest scores on their nine weeks benchmark tests and their PACT tests. I am sure that one comment is true. To show you the success of this school, twelve new classrooms have just been completed for the upcoming new school year. I am sure that one comment of this parent is most assuredly true, that this school will continue its tradition of excellence for many years to come.
Midway has an excellent administrative team as well as faculty and staff. It is a very friendly environment. Midway excels in test scores and pushes students to the next level in both academics and character development. The school provides art, music, physical education, computer lab, library, and guidance classes. There are many after school clubs some of which include running club, art club, karate club, fitness club, after school enrichment, volleyball club, lego/robotics club, science club, stock market club, etc. Midway has a very active PTA and logs thousands of volunteer hours every year. There are not enough words to express my satisfaction with Midway. It is a truly wonderful school. Midway has accomplished many things in the short 4 years it has been open.
Midway is a small rural school which has begun to dream big. Currently, Midway is transitioning from a poorly rated school to a top notch school. The principal has only been there 3 years and under her leadership, new and exiting activities for the parents and students have come. I look forward to my youngest child's future at Midway Elementary.
