Batesburg-Leesville High School provided challenging courses and many extra-curricular activities for my children. We loved the small class size and individualized attention that the faculty and staff provided. I feel that both of my children are well-equipped to handle college because of the education they received at B-L High.
this a very great school just the students need to get it together
Batesburg Leesville is a good school. They are not academically superior, however they necessities are taught. Some teachers have a problem with helping students on their level without making them feel stupid, but that only account for a few of the teachers. The students are mostly well behaved except for a couple groups. The whole student body is very school spirited and supportive of the Panthers. Overall, I give this school a B!
The principal quality is poor, teachers have in my experience not worked well with parents in the best interest of the child. The classes are very mediocre and far behind other schools in the state. Only one AP class is offered, and the honors level classes are not very advanced.
I just recently moved away from Batesburg, but I did go for a year to the high school. I felt that it had a great environment, both acedemically and sociall. Overall, i think it is a great school. Also, I would like to say that the comment about 'teachers being afraid of students' is way out of line, and completely untrue. The school has great vocational facilities, an awesome computer lab, great staff, and an active Army JROTC. The ROTC is the best part of a high school, I think, anyways. I Highly recommend this school.
Disregard the negative review left previously. Students are very well-behaved at this school and it's a rare thing for one to cross the line. When this does occur, consequences are issued immediately and fairly. As far as teachers being 'afraid of what students might do', I would love to hear an explanation. I have never seen anything that would indicate that what you said was even remotely true. My experience there has been a very positive one. I have great teachers who actually teach and actually care about their students. This is the way it is supposed to be. I am thankful to be graduating a Batesburg-Leesville Panther!
The teachers in this school seem to be afraid of what students will do if they are punished accordingly. It was not this way 15 years ago. We need a tougher administration i believe.
