I recently attended the Award Ceremony when BMS was presented the banner for being named as a National School to Watch. I was extremely impressed with the well behaved and talented students as well as the enthusiastic teachers, administrators and support staff. Congratulations BMS, we will continue 'watching you.' Keep up the good work!

Belton Middle School is an awesome school. The teachers are hard-working and the administration is supportive of the teachers and the students who are there to learn. They take a no-nonsense approach to those who don't follow the rules which is something that I also do at home, so I am very supportive of that approach. My child knows that rules are in place for a reason and that he is not the exception to any rule. I follow the same edict of my parents...if you get in trouble at school, you will also get in trouble at home. I am grateful that the administration supports a positive learning environment for my child and others like him, because those students will be our leaders tomorrow.

My children had wonderful teachers. I understand that children will misbehave, but the discipline is extremely heavy-handed. The teachers are wonderful, but don't expect anything out of the administration.

This school is a great school. If parents want to get involved more, go ahead. Nothing is stoping parents from being involved if they desire to do so. This is my 3rd child at BMS, the forth one is coming soon.

This is my child's second year at BMS and I find it difficult for anyone to understand what is going on at the school. There is little or I should say no parental involvement and although there is ample opportunity I think that this is the biggest problem as to why there are issues with the administrators. I find many issues that need to be addressed by parents and for a lack of concern or interest in there own children they are not addressed. Parents who once wanted to be involved in the school have refused to continue to volunteer due in part to unruly, bad mannered, and just plain disobedient students. Teachers on the other hand seem to be less than dedicated to helping get parents involved. Parents if you want your child to suceed you need to become involved and know who they are hanging around with.

I have had one child go to bms,now my second goes there. The teachers are pretty good there. On the other hand the administrators are very difficult and refuse input of parents unless we are agreeing with them. They make up extra rules as they go along. If you are not in their clique ,your voice will fall on deaf ears. If I had a third child they would not attend this school.

Belton Middle School is an excellent learning environment for all children. The teachers and administration all work together to focus on the total learning of the students. A volunteer network of parents has recently been established to have parents more involved in classroom activities, a booster club for athletics was recently established, and murals have been painted all over the school hallways. The library is beautiful and has many valuable resources for students and teachers. The After School Program has teachers available for two hours after school to assist students who are experiencing difficulty in the classroom and to receive extra help with homework. I have had one child go through BMS and my second child is going through now as a 6th grader. The teachers work extremely hard to help the children succeed and do everything to prepare the children for the spring PACT test.
