This is by far the best school my children have attended. We move around quite a bit due to my husband's job (this is our 4th elementary school), so I think I can safely say that I know what I'm talking about. The teachers are all caring and supportive, and the administration is amazing.
Those children and teachers who I've had contact with have been outstanding.
Lake Carolina has been wonderful for my children. My oldest had only attended a small christian school at our church through 1st grade, so it was an adjustment for her when we moved here, but I have to say she adjusted very quickly and absolutely loves the school. This year I also have a kindergartener and I have been so impressed with her teacher and what she has learned! Overall, I can say nothing but good things about Lake Carolina.
My three children have attended this school for over 5 years now. I admire and respect the principal and the high expectations she has for both her staff and the children. I cannot say enough about Team LCE's quest for excellence. The ITI lifelong guidelines and lifeskills create a model that can be used by the children for life. Teaching within this model creates an enhanced learning experience. I commend Team LCE for their ability to identify children who are falling behind and help them to get back on track. Two of my own children with learning issues were identified early on by Lake Carolina's team of teachers - in one case even before I knew something was wrong. Team LCE worked diligently to get my children where they needed to be to achieve success. LCE's success is quite evident in the national and state recognitions it has been awarded.
We just moved here from Texas and I thought the school my kids were going to was pretty good. Boy was I wrong. School has started and I can't say enough about the way LCE treats my children. There is positive reinforcement, wind chimes instead of yelling, smiling teachers and staff. LCE is so organized that they took my son's test scores from his gifted program and converted them into computer generated copies so they could be used to qualify him to the Alert program. Yes Richland District 2 went above and beyond for my son. They even called me at home to give be the good news. My children love there teachers and finally love to go to school. I am informed of everything that happens at the school by newsletters, phone calls and e-mails. My daughter says the cafeteria food is better here too.
LCE has been great to my 1st and 3rd grader. It is failing my 5th grader on the other hand. I believe that this school is so focused on making sure their test scores are high, they forget about the child who struggles daily. They do offer tutoring, for those kids whose 'test' score reflect they need it. I am concerned that our system is failing our children and placing too much importance on test scores.
Lake Carolina has been a God send for my children! We entered the school at below level averages in reading and mathemathics, but in the year we've been there, my son and daughter have both jumped multiple levels in a very short period of time. The PTO is incredible, the staff is amazing, I stay well informed on everything going on in the school, the teachers really seem to care about all aspects of my children's lives. I love the school and could live on a soapbox preaching my reasons for doing so! I give this school a 10!
My children have attended Lake Carolina Elementary for almost four years. It is a wonderful school. The principal is really great. She keeps the school running smoothly and cares so much about all of the students. She is always available if parents need to talk about any concerns they may have. Many of the teachers are nationally board certified. They put lots of time into their students and try to work with each child according to their individual abilities. I would absolutely give this school an A++.
My child has been attending LCE for just a few months now. From what I have seen thus far is a wonderful school. The principal is very hands on. My child attended another elemenary shool in district 2,but I didn't see that from the principal. There is alot of parent involvement and they offer many extra curricular activities. The parents as well as the principal and teachers want their kids to do well.
