My daughter has been a student @ Hendrix Elem. since she was in 4k. My dtr. is involved with quite a few of the different clubs/classes that Hendrix has to offer. My dtr. is now thriving in a single gender class and we will be putting her in a single gender next yr. The staff is very helpful, friendly and knowledgeable. I highly recommend Hendrix Elementary School

This is the absolute best elementary school any of my children have ever attended! Academics are top-notch and the teachers and staff are motivated to help in all ways possible. I would say Hendrix compares better than the schools I have been involved with in NY, NC (Charlotte and Raleigh) and elsewhere in SC. These were great schools, too. I am so glad to be in Spartanburg County District 2 and in Boiling Springs at Hendrix Elementary! My daughter is thriving.

I believe that this school needs a lot of help. I agree that the teaching staff rely on the students in cases where they shouldn't. Important information that needs to be signed and returned should not be sent via 5 year olds. The students recieve much more negative reinforcement than positive. My childrens grades have drastically declined within a year of transferring from another district. Academic problems found with my children at Hendrix were never addressed from their previous school. This tells me that there is a serious problem with the teaching, testing, or documentation techniques of Hendrix.

We moved from another district and are very satisfied with Hendrix. The staff, no matter in what capacity they serve, seem to honestly care about the children. Hendrix has several programs such as 'Math Academy', CLIMB, and 'Write Nights' that really enforce what the children learn. Such activities revisit (and remind) children of skills that have already been practiced that apply to their current & future educational success.

I think that this school lacks a lot. My children switched to this school from another district and one of them went from a A/B student to a D/F student. The teachers never contact you about a problem they just write notes and expect a child to deliver it. They need a lot of help here.
