i love this school. they were so good to my children. it saddened me when we had to relocate out of state. i would recommend this school to anyone. it was awesome, especially ms. lori, ms. anna, ms. dawn, and ms. teri for my son and ms mayo, ms. stone, ms. angie and ms. jones for my daughter. truly, springfield was a blessing to us.
Wow! My granchild has been going to this school for two years now and what a big change from Springfield Massachusettes elementary schools. Cultural shock! The teachers are wonderful if a child should lag behind in a subject they let you know and work with that student. The counselors are actually involved with the students. Field trips: Many! The principle is involved in the students' education. Everyone there seems to be genuinley caring about your childs education. Kids are awarded many times for different things. The kids? They want to go to school! Oodles for Springfield Elementary School in Charleston SC.!!!
Springfield is still devoted to the neighborhood school mentality. All the kids know each other and no one is ever 'left behind'. The teachers all bend over backwards to help your children succeed.
The focus of the school is not only educating the children, but caring for them too by giving them a safe environment surrounded by teachers and staff that truly care about them.
Springfield Elementary is one of the last remaining neighborhood schools in it's section of Charleston County! The school strives for perfection and demands excellence from it's students. While the population of the school is changing, the standards and expectations of the school have not changed. The community has helped make Springfield the wonderful place that it is, and will continue to support the school as the years move forward.
I am a parent whose child was in the class with the last minute teacher change. The communication of the change was poor. Could have been handled better. New teacher is great a chnage for the better I believe. My son had enjoyed kindergarden at springfield. He look forward to school everyday. The teacher is very encouraging to the students. She is very informative to the parents. We love being at Springfield.
Very poor communication with parents. Received a letter today from a new teacher that she will be my daughter's new kindergarten teacher. There was no notice or explanation from the principal regarding this significant change. This is my first year to have a school age child and I am not impressed.
It is very great school, my son love it very much! The teachers are wonderfull!
'This school is amazing! We moved in from Germany just before school started. Our son (6 years) wasn t able to speak English. The support is great! The whole staff is working hard on childrens success! The children learn a lot! The whole surroundings are very warmhearted. There are more children like our son which first language isn t Englisch and we have been very happy, that our son wasn t the only german child there. And I would like to encourage you to join the PTA! You can meet there nice people and do something for the school. To choice this school was one of our best decisions!'
Being new to Charleston and unfamiliar with the area we really wanted to be in a good area. People I came in contact with were consistently telling me West Ashley was a nice area with great schools. My son started kindergarden at Springfield and I could not have asked for a better school. The teachers are so nice and sincerely care about the students individual development. Needless to say, my son flourised in kindergarden and was so excited about going into first grade. Many thanks to all of the teachers and staff that have made this transition to a new city exciting and educational for my 6 yr. old. Mrs. Pait and Mrs. Bosley are wonderful teachers and I can only hope my son continues to have such great influences as he moves to the next grade.
