Pulled my children from this school. Don't be fooled by the fake cheerfulness. A lot of lies and deceit!

Kinard Elementary School is the most amazing school. The staff is top notch in teaching and personality. Both the principle and vice principle are incredible with each and every student. They have a personal relationship with all of the wonderful kids. There ILead program is amazing and their overall scores are top of the charts. We are very lucky to have our son be a part of this incredible school family. We moved here with the expectation that a small town would not have great schools... WE Were Wrong ! This school is the best our Children have ever attended and we will stay in this area because the schools and people are so wonderful... Kinard Elementary is AMAZING !

I am very fortunate to teach with an amazing staff at Kinard. Each child at Kinard has an opportunity to be a leader because our staff implements the 7 Habits. Students can find their leadership roles in the classroom, school clubs, after school activities, or apply for leadership roles. One of the best ways students and teachers keep in check is by keeping student leadership data notebooks. Students and teachers set academic goals as well as personal goals together. It is a great tool for planning, showing achievement, setting the bar higher for future goals, and learning how responsibility and accountability go hand and hand.

My school is amazing! We are developing leaders each day as we strive for greatness! Our students have confidence like none others because the teachers truly believe in each child. You couldn't find a better school if you tried!

My school is amazing! We follow Franklin Covey's 7 Habits, and leadership is present in and out of our school. The teachers truly all work as a team for our students, who we think of as our own children. I couldn't be prouder to work at such a wonderful school that puts children first and that encourages and molds them into the successful leaders they can become.

Kinard Elementary provides every student with an education that prepares them for Middle School, high school, and career. With an outstanding faculty that responds to each and every student's academic needs. They have unique clubs and opportunities that give every student a chance to display their unique talents and skills from music, chorus, art, juggling, theater, photography, leadership roles, news broadcasting, coding, and talent shows. Excellent school.

From the Principal on down, the entire staff is amazing. Mrs. Weathers implemented a "7 Habits of Successful People" leadership program and has woven it into the entire lesson plan for all grades (even Pre-K!!!) This is a Title 1 school so a high percentage of the students are on free or reduced lunch, but the care that the teachers provide for all students can overcome other life circumstances in their lives. I am grateful to have had both of my children attend this school. The PTA is highly involved in all school activities and provides resources to the student (they bought the beginning of the year school supplies for many students.)

This is a wonderful school. The Principal is amazing (Mrs Weathers). She knows every child in that school by name, very impressive. She is passionate and truly cares for these kids. My child has been attending this school for 5 yrs now. The only incident that made me uneasy is the lack of attention to a teacher we had last yr for 4th grade. My child has always had amazing grades but seemed to suffer in this particular teachers class. This teacher in question was LOTS of fun but not so sure about his quality of teaching. I did write in to the school about this problem but I never heard a word back. It was a long school yr. I am so happy to say this yr we are back to getting A's. :) Amazing set of 5th grade teachers!! My child looks forward to going to school every day. And I have no doubt the staff in this school are the reason. Sorry we will have to leave it next yr for dreaded middle school. : ( LOL

I am a parent of a preschooler, and was also a student at Kinard. When I faced the decision of whether or not to send my 4 year old to Pre-K, after she had stayed home with me all her life, I became sick to my stomach. I registered her, thinking she probably wouldn't get in, because they usually only accept a certain number of students. She was accepted, and from day one, I have been more than pleased with her teachers, other staff and administrators. I couldn't imagine sending my child anywhere else to school! She wakes up every morning, ready for school and so eager to learn. What an awesome feeling for a mom who was apprehensive about sending their child to Pre-K!!!

Kinard is amazing! Ms. Weathers, the principal, is an exceptional leader and motivator. Her enthusiasm and professional flows thoroughly the school and is evident in the staff & students. Throughout the year there are program that provide recognition and encouragement to the students and allow for a time of fellowship among the families. The entire population learns and embraces the 7 habits plus the teachers & administration practice the love & logic approach (and offer training & guidance to parents in the same) as an empathetic approach to accountability. It is an older school but very well taken care of. I have experienced many schools, both public. & private and Kinard is the best environment I have found for my children.

Kinard is the same now as it was back in the 80s when I was a student--quality teachers, administrators, counselor, teacher assistants--everything! I read on a forum that someone said to watch the demographics before you move into a certain neighborhood, trying to sway that family to move closer to Griggs Road's attendance zone. The only difference between any of Clover's elementary schools is the price of housing. Kinard is Title I but you would NEVER know that based on the quality of teaching and the love everyone devotes to every child. Parent involvement is acceptable--it could be better, but Kinard has a fair share of people who get involved in the lives of each child. I am proud to have been a product of Kinard--I went on to graduate with honors from high school and college. Thanks!

Both of my children have been going to Kinard Elementary School for the past couple of years and I wouldn't take them out for nothing. They have been Soo Great with my kids. The principal knows both of my kids by their names and knows what goes on thru out the year about everything they do. The school has been a blessing in my eyes for my kids.

Gee, just where do you start. This school is awesome!I have 3 boys that all attended Kinard, as far as their academic programs they are the best, all 3 of my boys graduated with high honors, and received many awards. My oldest son Seth had the opportunity to go to Charleston,SC with All State Choir, he was chosen by his teacher Mrs. Lenord. This was a time that Seth still to this day talks about. The teaches also made me as a parent feel important in asking me to volunteer my time and get to know the staff and all the other volunteers at Kinard. As far as Art, my son Symaron had a bowl made out of clay chosen to go to York Co. Museum. So I'd say that Kinard is a awesome school with awesome staff! Thanks for all the good years that you gave to my sons!

This is my first year at Kinard as assistant principal. It gives me great joy to say that I am elated to be working in a school that focuses on student achievement, reaching out to the community, and involving parents in the education of their child. Students at Kinard are greeted by warm smiles of educators who engage them in learning enviroments that reach for their full potential. While visiting classrooms, I witness first-hand the excitement and passion that our teachers have for providing a quality education for all students. Students at Kinard are fortuante to have available to them exploritory classes, such as art, music, and PE, in addition to a variety of choices of extracurricular programs on Wednesday such as gymanstics, Spanish, and photography. Parents are often found collaborating with teachers to ensure academic success of Kinard children. We love out school!

About this school

Parents are encouraged to take an active part in their child’s education through visits with teachers, participation in classroom activities, and frequent Family Nights. Title I encourages parents to visit our school on a variety of occasions. Parent/teacher conferences, parent workshops, and academic recitals are ways for parents to be informed of their child's progress and classroom expectations. Principal's Coffee hour, special breakfasts, and family dinners offer opportunities for parents and family members to interact with school personnel. A strong PTO is present at Kinard Elementary School. Through this organization, parents are involved in learning about and participating in their child’s education. Meetings are held throughout the school year and emphasis is placed on familiarizing parents with the academic focus. The annual PTO BBQ unites parents and staff at our Fine Arts Festival in an effort to raise funds for the school's programs. In addition to the PTO, the School Improvement Council meets throughout the year and focuses on current issues in the school. This dedicated committee works to make improvements in the educational process at Kinard.
