Meadowfield S-U-C-K-S!!!! This school is not parent friendly at all! Things a parent/grandparent are genuinely concerned about in reference to their child is made into a joke or brushed off and not taken seriously. If it were mu decision, I would not send my children to this school!!! I believe my grandchildren are going here strictly due to convenience. What a waste!

I went to Medowfield back in the late 60's and believe me, you did not want to be sent to the pricipals office in those days. Mr. Turner would send you back to class with a very sore bottom and you thought twice about acting up in class after that experience. My first grade teacher(Mrs. Harden) was very stern but we all loved and respected her very much. She didnt put up with any back talk at all or you would get your hand spanked with a ruler in front of the whole class! I look back at all that now and realize that Medowfield was a wonderful school to attend and I miss those days very much. I think the current school pincipal would agree with me too.

The school needs improvement, it has declined over the past 8 years. Discipline problems exist that are not addressed. Apathy exists among the administrators and leadership(Principal). Most of the veteran teachers are apathetic as well toward the students. The school is not parent friendly and tends to cater to some parents and not others. Across the board fairness is not the rule. My grandchildren transferred to another elementary school and are doing well academically and socially

My grand-daughter was in the fifth grade. I am extremely upset about the Awards Program held today (5/26/11) They could have & should have done better. It was the worst I have ever been to. Each class had a separate awards program which was senseless. They only had the principle & Teacher/Couselor present the award(s) & promotion certificate to each student. A lot of these students were on the Chorus & school Orchestra. My children attended this school 15yrs ago. I worked on the School Improvement Council as secretary to Senator Warren Giese. When they had their program the fifth graders had an excellent program. The program today was like they threw it together & didn't care. They didn't even have the homeroom teacher's nor students names listed on the program. I don't understand how the Principle could allow this or be please with it. One mother I talked with was very upset about the program. She stated that the way they had the program was not one of the choices they were given to vote on. She said that she do not know how they came up with it. They could have let the chorus & orchestra program held on 5/3/11 be a part of the Awards Program.THIS IS VERY DISHEARTENING! ! !

My child was a student in the gifted and talented program and I wasn't impressed with the curriculm as a result my child now attends another school with a rigorous curriculm. I wouldn't recommend sending your child to Meadowfield.

The Gifted and Talented Program at Meadowfield prepared my oldest child for a rigorous program at Hand Middle School. My youngest child is in the Gifted and Talented program as well and is a happy, confident learner. Way to go, Meadowfield!

Meadowfield is great! The principal is young, spirited, and interacts with the children on a regular basis. The school is constantly doing something to involve both students and parents. My children transferred to this school 3 years ago, and their grades have come up exponetially! I believe it is due in part to the motivation of both the principal and teachers. In fact 1 of the my 2 children made the honor roll all year. Another graduated from Meadowfield and went on to Middle school. She made the honor roll her entire year also. I highly recommend Meadowfiled Elementary school if your're moving to this area of town.
