I love Concrete Elementary because of its 'top-rated' teachers. As a grandmother, Author, Poet & Freelance Writer who is a stickler about 'quality education' -- I, sincerely, believe that all children and youth should be given the 'top-notch' education that I received in New England, many decades ago.

My son began kindergarten this year, and he really looks forward to going every day. Mrs. Sparkman and Mrs. Brock do such a great job with all of the kids, and I am amazed at how much they are learning this early in the school year. There is clear and frequent communication between teacher and parents via the children's folders. I never have to wonder what has gone on during the day or what is expected academically from my son.

We were told this is one of the best schools in the area. I have found, though, that the being a fly on the wall at this school goes a long way. I've heard teachers yelling at students in the hall (granted, the students were being loud themselves, but who's the adult?), over use of paper in copies and did I mention they only do 1 parent-teacher session and its in the first 8 weeks of the school year- exactly how is this progressive? PTO meetings are scheduled during school functions, but not all grades have their functions at the same time. 1st & 2nd grades are overcrowded. On a good note, the lunch room is inviting and relaxing and the school is always super clean. My son did not get sick once this past school year. For a public school, its ok, but there's nothing to wow about.

This is my son's first year at Concrete Primary School, and he loves this school. Mrs. Sparkman and Mrs. Brock are wonderful teachers. I love that the principal, Mrs. Russell, are very involved with the students. I couldn't ask for a better school.

I have two children who attend Concrete. Mrs. Harrison has shown outstanding leadership and improvement in the schools overall grade. I have had nothing but admiration for all my children s teachers. There is definitely an attitude to see all the children succeed. Never have I seen such parent involvement as there has been at this school. My wife and I are saddened to hear of Mrs. Harrison's eventual departure but have all the confidence that she will ensure her replacement does as outstanding a job as she has done for this school. My children have received an excellent three years of education and the beginning (the most important) of a structured and fulfilled learning experience.

What a wonderful school! I have never seen a principal so involved in all of her students. The teachers take not only a professional approach to teaching but they really get to know the children on a personal level. Academically, I know my children are being taught at the highest level possible.
