This school is very good and do their best to give their kids the best of a school year they could have. They have alot of activies and clubs to keep them in to school!

SMS is a good school compared to others in the general area. As with all middle schools, there are problems between students, but so far, SMS has dealt with them in a timely manner. Teachers here are pretty good (with a few exceptions). Overall, I'm happy with the school. Since my daughter has been in the district now for 8 years, I would have to say that the Gaston/Swansea district has come a long way! GO SMS!

My daughter just finished 7th grade at Sandhills Middle with all A's. She loved her teachers and her classes. She was involved in chorus, PE, drama, spanish, just to name a few of the extracuricular classes she took. She was in the gifted and talented class and she also played on the JV soccer team from the High School. I loved the fact that I could call, email or go by the school if I had a problem with anything or anyone. My daughter did have a problem with two boys that needed to be dealt with and I spoke with the Principal about it and it was resolved the next day! I appreciate what the faculty and staff do at the school. Parents need to support the teachers and administrators more and be involved with their childrens studies and activities on a daily basis.

sandhills middle school is not a great school, they don't care about the kids at all.the kids can tell on someone for bulling them, and the staff does nothing about it.the teachers don't want to help the kids when they need it,before or after school.i know kids in this school who can not read, and they will be sent on to high school anyway.
