Ben Hazel Elementary is, in my opinion, the top elementary school in Hampton! My child attended BHP from k-4 thru 3rd gr. and was always well attended to, in the know about what was going on, and able to keep up! The teachers caring of their students at BHP is incredible! The have a great and only separate facility for special needs kids; and the other schools need to follow their example of how they personally attend their special needs students. I rate Ben Hazel as a 5-star school.

About the tests

In 2011-2012 South Carolina used the Palmetto Assessment of State Standards (PASS) to test students in grades 3 through 8 in writing, English/Language Arts, Math, Social Studies and Science. The PASS is a standards-based test, which means it measures how well students are mastering specific skills defined for each grade by the state of South Carolina. The goal is for all students to score at or above the state standard.
