I went to GSSM for the Summer Science Program(SSP) last year, and I had a blast! The facility is amazing. I was in a chemistry class, and the lab was top-notch. They had ex-students there, and I really enjoyed being able to talk to them. From the outside, the school does look a bit like a prison, but it is really nice. The food was good, too. Student rooms are pretty nice. SSP is for rising 8th, 9th, and 10th graders. I would highly reccomend it to anyone who is interested in this school!
This school offers a superior educational experience, and the proof is in the pudding - many of the students are accepted to Harvard, Yale, MIT, Duke, etc., and almost all receive nearly-full or full-tuition scholarships to South Carolina schools. Best of all? The state pays the bill and turns out well trained and bright citizens, many of whom I hope will return to South Carolina!
