HHCA is an incredible place. As a parent of a lower school student, and someone who has been involved in the HHCA community, our daughter has thrived in this nurturing environment. With challenging academics, new fine arts and athletic facilities, and a strong Christian atmosphere, this school is on the rise. If you are thinking about private school on Hilton Head and want a place where the teachers truly care deeply about the well-being of your child, HHCA is the place to be!

My daughter attended for many years. Simply put, she was extremely prepared for college and is performing well above our expectations.

I am surprised by the July 19, 2012 review. I have had two children attend the school. One graduated and one remains. Both children have been in other private/public schools in this area. I have spent countless hours interviewing parents/staff of private schools in Savannah and Hilton Head. HHCA was clearly the front runner when I made the decision to enroll them. I am certain that the HHCA staff, teachers, parents, and student body are not perfect since every human being is imperfect. However, I am certain, especially with the current leadership, that they are creating an environment that fosters growth both spiritually and academically. Conflict will occur at any school. Human beings, especially children, are unpredicatable creatures. The school cannot ever replace the role of the parent. However, they can compliment. HHCA does that well. HHCA does nurture, allow for mistakes, disciplines and takes swift action with noncompliance. Character assination on the staff or teachers is unfair. I personally have not had one credible complaint against the HHCA staff. They are well educated/ They care. They love Christ. They are human. Is the tuition worth bet!

We have spent many years at this school in the hopes of its improvement. The administration talks a good game, however the changes never come. Faculty, as well as staff are for the most part not qualified in their area and weak. As far as the Christian aspect of the school, anything goes here, discipline has become extinct, as well as true Christian teaching and most importantly examples! Be careful with the envirornment your children will be exposed to from administrators, faculty and classmates. The children from this school are considered some of the worst behaved on the island in relations to sex, drugs and alcohol. It's all a "facade".

Hilton Head Christian did not meet our expectations in most areas that we deem important.

HHCA is a college preparatory school, so the curriculum is very specific and challenging. Our three children have done well, but with much hard work. The size is a huge advantage because all 3 have been able to be involved in many many extracurricular activities that they wouldn't have been able to in a larger public school. It's an amazing place!!!

My 3 children all graduated from HHCA and have done very well in college. They were well prepared academically as well as spiritually. The school prepares them to be leaders in life and quite honestly, expectations are very high. Their athletic teams are very competitve and have won a number of state championships over the years.

HHCA is not the best school to send anyone to. While the teachers are perfectly capable, the curriculem is miles behind that of private or public schools and it is very small. There are many useless days.

HHCA is a wonderful environment for Christian families to send their children to. The academic programs prepare them for college and their athletic programs offer student/athletes a chance to compete and train to play at the college level if they so desire. The teachers, staff and coaches of HHCA are Christian educators who emphasize the importance of character building and discipleship building in and out of school; on and off the athletic arena.

About these ratings

The Community Rating is the school’s average rating from its community members (e.g., parents, students, and school staff). The highest possible rating is five stars; the lowest is one star.

We currently do not have any test score information for this school. Unlike public schools, private schools are not always required to report data about their schools or not required to take the same tests as public schools. Many private schools take different standardized tests; however, that information is often made available only to families of enrolled students. We strive to acquire additional private school data whenever available.

Oops! We currently do not have any student information for this school. We rely on the state Department of Education, the National Center for Education Statistics (NCES), and in some cases school administrators such as registrars and principals for this data.
