Hopkins Elementary School2

I was not at all impressed with the level of education my child was receiveing at Hopkins Elementary. Although some grade levels have really strong teachers, there are definitely some gaps that need to be addressed. My child went from loving school to crying everyday. The administration tries to intimidate the students and parents. I began looking for other school immediately, and as a result, my child has returned to loving school.
This school is top-notched. The administrators and the teachers believe in keeping parent involved. The school has a slogan, 'It's All About The Children.' The children will let you know seriously that it's all about them. High expectations are establishd regardless of the age of the children. The children love their teachers and especially their principal. The principal is very hands-on She knows the children by name. She can always hear her referring to the children as her own. The entire staff treats all the students with respect. The teachers provide the students and parents with the skills and concepts to be studeied each nine weeks. They also communicate with the parents on a weekly to a bi-weekly basis. They have lots of activities to keep the children and parents involved. Hats off to a great school.
This is my son's third year attending Hopkins. Until now, he has been fine. Academically, he should be in a higher grade level, however, his birthdate is holding him back. The teachers are wonderful and very helpful with anything that we need. With any school or class, the parents must stay envolve and on top of things. Without parents and teachers working together it will not be successful. -A parent within the school system-
