I think that Bonner is one of the best elem. schools in the lower Berkeley county area. I have had three children attend the school (my oldest now 19 and my youngest now 6) and they have turned out to be remarkable children. I myself even attended the school growing up. The education is there for anybody that is willing to learn. Most of the teachers have been there for years which to me means that they are very confident and comfortable with they're teaching abilities and with the students.

Bonner Elementary has made many changes over the years in their curriculum. The staff and administration are eager to improve test scores and ratings, but still seem to be lacking the effort in pushing children to achieve more. Putting emphasis on improving test scores does not matter if you cannot increase the knowledge available to each and every student. There seems to be an acceptance for students who will not learn, instead of taking the extra time and effort to make sure they are taught some of the basic subjects. I would be embarrassed if any student were retained in my class, yet teachers don't think twice, much less become involved in a student's individual needs to grade advancement. Bottom line, Bonner needs to expect more from their students and push to achieve a better, smarter student with a stronger curriculum.
