My son, currently in 3rd grade, has been a student at CFE from Kindergarten. I could not have asked for a better school for him. We both have loved every teacher we have had so far. Each teacher has really taken the time to work with him. He is in GT ELA this year and I give much of the credit to the great teachers he has had. I've been impressed with the curriculum at CFE. They understand that kids are capable of so much when given the tools and the opportunity.
My daughter was reading at a 1st grade level when she started 3rd grade here. We moved from southern NJ. Her 3rd grade teacher here got her reading & she never stopped. She's about to start honors classes in ELA and math at middle school this coming school year. Thank you CFES teachers & staff!
I was the 5th grader who typed on this page before and I would like to take back what I said abbout 5th grade, it is horble!!!
I think people should see this school in a childs point of view which is in 5th grade.I am a straight A student that came from NE area two years ago, I loved the teachers where we used to live and never had a problem before coming to this area. I feel that this school has horrible teachers, if you are intrested in going to this school I ask you please to reconsider, or just keep an eye on the gym teachers and the 4th grade teachers. But if you have a child going into 5th grade you are in luck because most of those teachers are much better.
My child started in the child development program and is currently a kindergartner. I am extremely grateful for the quality of early childhood education that my son has received. The teachers are very attentive, caring and the curriculum is varied and structured. My child has thrived in this environment and I highly recommend this school.
this school is great!! i have a 6 year old girl in kindergarten and a 10 year old girl in fourth grade. they love this school
I have a 9 year old daughter in third grade and a 10 year old son also in third grade. We are at the end of the year and both my children have done very well this year. I am a Support Facilitator and I work with special needs children. My son needs extra help as he has problems with his working memory. He has recieved the all the help he needed and has surpasted all his goals for this year. I love this school.
I have a son in the child development program. What a great way for him to start of his educaitonal career! It is a great school and he has expereinced nothing but success.
I have a girl who is 1st grader in CFE. We are very happy with their program. She loves her school. I've never heard bad thing about any teachers in CFE.
I have been at many different schools through the years and CFE is tops! The curriculum, and staff are some of the best. Overall, students are well-mannered and are there to learn. When reading other reviews here that complain, ask yourself why. Read them carefully. They are very telling.
This school, as other Horry County schools, has a leadership problem. As a result the teachers feel they may treat the children with little or no respect. When the leadership is informed of the treatment that the children are receciving there is no action taken. I would not recommed this school to any parent. Nor would I recommed Horry County schools. The leadership at the County level is as within the schools.
CFE is a top rate school! The principal is always doing what is best for students, parents, and staff. The staff is fabulous...dedicated, hard working, caring, highly qualified, and always puts children first. I highly recommend CFE. The parents are excellent...supportive and involved. The school is a home away from home. The CFE staff and administration have high expectations of themselves and the students. CFE prepares students to succeed in life. I spend most of every day at CFE and it is a stellar school.
My daugheter was in kindergarten last year, and we could not have asked for a better year. Her teacher was wonderful and showed such care and concern for her. The entire staff is top rate and they are dedicated to the children. The school's leadership is strong and places the needs of the children first. Any parent that states otherwise simple hasn't spent much time at the school.
We moved to Carolina Forest beacause we heard CFE was the best in Horry CO. Academicly it is good, but most of the teachers and staff are very stand offish and rude. I have seen my daughters teacher humiliate children in front of the class on more than one occassion. I have reported this to the principal and nothing changes. Alot of the teachers have no control over their classrooms. Most of the people in CF are snobs and their are alot of very nasty children in the school. Their is no discipline with the children, they are allowed to do pretty much what they want. I use to volenteer, so I have abserved all of this. We are currently trying to move to St. James schools.
We moved from the city of Myrtle Beach to Carolina Forest because of CFE. We have two children that attend CFE. Our children are getting an excellent education. The staff and administration are professionals and very nice. When I go to the school, I am always greeted by the ladies at the front office. When I walk to my child's classroom, if I pass a teacher or staff member in the hallway, they are smiling and always say hello! I have met many nice parents and have made great friends by being involved with the PTO and school functions. We are so proud to say that our children go to CFE. Kids are happy and Mom and Dad are happy too.:)
We moved from Columbia SC to this school district 3 years ago. I have found it to be a great school depending on the teacher and the administrative staff. We have had both very bad and very good teachers there. As for the C.F. area the one parent is correct. We moved from a Metro area and yet the people in this area for very snobbish. We are a very outgoing family and yet we hardly get hello from school officials on down. This could be a good forum to give people in the area a heads-up that this needs to improve. I beleive you also have to get involved in the activities in the area, but we have and it has not helped. I have heard it is because of the overflow of Northerners that keep to themselves that have transpoanted here.
Yes, CFE is stretched with too many children right now but is the best school in the area in my, and many other's opinion. I moved to the area (Carolina Forest) for this school and have been more than pleased with my daughter's progress, teachers, and other staff members. The teachers and staff go above and beyond what they 'need' to do in an effort to know every child, their ability and help them in any manner. My daughter will be at the 'new school' next year...and I know already although it will be nice to have fewer children and a newer building, we will greatly miss CFE and the staff! I feel blessed that my child began her educational experience here and I only hope that the new school continues the excellent example that CFE has set in the area.
The school is over populated..the new school will help, however, teachers aren't equipped to handle overflow nor do they have the patience. Staff is just not up to par.
The people of this school are not friendly and are very stuck up rich people who are not willling to make new comers feel welcome. You must be very wealthy, make perfect grades, and your child must be involved in cheerleading, dance, football, etc.
Carolina Forest Elementary Has done wonders for my children. The teachers and staff go the extra mile for the kids. The quality of edcuation is outstanding. We moved here right at the begging of the school year from Tennessee. The difference in the public schools systems is unreal. I can see such a tremendous improvement in my son's overall edcuation. They do take the one on one time, and really care about each student. The encourging learning in the home as well as at school. They also keep in constant communication with the parnets, so you know what is going on with your child. I highly encourage you to check out this school distrcit before you make your finail decision.
