School highlights:
Orangeburg Wilkinson has been and will always be a near top notch school in my opinion. I am a former student and parent of a current student and although there have been changes...for the most part OW is pretty consistent. Lots of activities and organizations.Teachers there have always produced top students that go on to become great doctors, attorneys, teachers, architects, etc. Every school has a "bad" crew or set of "hoodlums". I think that for the most part, any child can fit in at OW. When I was there, I hung with a certain group of girls and no one really bothered us much. My daughter says its still the same way now; there are cliques, but everyone pretty much stays in their circle. Violence, was worse when I was in school at OW than it is now. My daughter says she barely sees a fight. Great School.
Orangeburg-Wilkinson High School is about changing a generation of future educators for a better school system.
It makes a child want to come to school and you start to love learning in this wonderful school environment!
I love this school. The teachers are great and they really teach in a unique way.
OW has its problem, just as any other school, however they have produced scholars and continues to do so. The teachers are great the the new principal is just what the school needs. My brother just transfered there and he has no complaints.
OW is a wonderful school with very talented people. the teachers have been doing a wonderful job of teaching. it has improved a lot over the years. this school has a lot more to give than any other school in orangeburg. people say that this school is nothing but violence and drugs, but that is not true. it has changed a lot.
Students here have extreme potential and its not hard to prove it! LOOK at the HSAP scores from last year! The media are trying make O-W out to be a bad school by blasting the newspapers with gangs & drug subjects! I am here to say STOP IT! So many students have progressed and are doing it BIG right now, there only a few bad apples but every school has them. So many things go on at predominantly white schools that i hear in the streets that i never hear or see in the media! So why do it a school thats predominantly black? Students here continue to prove the media wrong everyday!
First off I would like to say bump O-W. this is a school of violence and drugs. This is school that needs some serious help. only thing you here about the school is negative. The media never shows the school any positive feedback.
Orangeburg-Wilkinson High is a magnificent school. It has its flaws, as does any place else, but overall it is a great learning environment that produces some of the world's greatest acheivers.
Orangeburg-Wilkinson HIgh School produces top notch students that will become successful leaders. The teachers there are exceptional. Iam proud to send my child there because I know that her academic and social attitude will flourish under the leadership of its principal and caring faculty and staff. The custodial staff and cafeteria staff are just as friendly and make you feel apart of the family by walkinf in the building. The girls' basketball team is exceptional as well as this year's football team.
