Pickens High School is the best high school i have ever been to even though i am just a sophmore there the people are friendly and make sure your welcome there and the teachers are more like friends instead of your tutor. I just love the athletic programs and the coaches there especially the football team.

My child transferred in as a sophomore. The rules and regulations are enforced a little unevenly, but overall it is orderly. My daughter is blossoming and achieving. The staff has high expectations and the students seem to strive to meet their goals. The car and bus pick up area is a mess. cars and buses using the same region. Kids walking everywhere- but they have staff- Usually Mr.Lawson (the Principal) and several assistant principals helping direct. The lunch room is tiny. they have 3 lunch periods to accomadate the number of kids in the tiny lunch room. My child complains about the quality and quantiy of the food. But my child does the same thing at home too. She is after all a teenager! The building itself is a convoluted maze. A new building would be great. But I think the teaching staff is more important. I respect the principal Mr. Lawson. The guidance staff has been very helpful to my daughter's specific needs.

These students have an 'A' day and an 'B' day. On the 'B' day my child has complained that the lunch lines are so long that she doesn't have time to eat. So she doesn't eat lunch. I have called the school and I was assured that a school a principle was in the lunchroom to give any child not finished eating a pass to class if late for this reason, but are the late everyday? Why are these lunch lines so long?
