My son spent 2 years, (K-1st) in this school, and my daughter spent one year there (K). This year I'm going to try to send them to Buena Vista or Skyland! My son flunked and is being held back in 1st. The staff did not communicate that they were having problems with my children until the year was half over! They send home little daily behavior reports saying my kids got a "Green" or "Yellow" and that they were doing good. A "Red" is bad. However they had issues with my children that they were not addressing in the class nor did they bring them to my attention so I could work with my children on it at home! The Principal is too fond of behavior medications, insisting they might be a "better alternative" even when told that it's not medically advisable to use them on the student in question! She;s also a rude know it all and treats parents as though they're on of her students. Some of the office staff was rude. There are a few good teachers and staff at this school. I feel very sorry for the conditions in which they are forced to work and how the conduct of the rest of the staff reflects on them. The dismally low test scores just add injury to insult! Our children deserve better!
