My daughter is being promoted next week to the 9th grade. I just want to say "Thank you!!" to the SMS faculty and administration in going out of their way to help her and communicate with me. The teachers have always been so encouraging to her and very responsive to my emails and phone calls and conferences. Her principles and guidance counselor have always put her interests first when questions or concerns have ever arisen. Being open-minded as a parent and student have helped us to accept their expertise in her education and made the communication process easier. And I have another coming up next year in 6th grade who we are very happy to see enter into the SMS program.

I have been so disgusted with the principal and 7th grade teachers here that we are moving just so our child will no longer have to attend. There is little to no communication with parents, they give you the run around to the point that entirely too many people become involved often causing miscommunication & misunderstandings. No one can seem to give straight answers that are in agreement & not conflicting...and the school district itself isn't much better.

While pursuing the IB designation may appear to be a worthy goal, loading up the kids with 3 hours homework every night is crazy. They don't have time to be kids.

I love Sullivan and the work it as been doing for the Middle Years IB program. Teachers have really been working on connecting their curriculums.

Come on folks, schools are so much more than the buildings that house them. Sullivan is in a very frumpy (but constantly upgraded) building, but its staff is top notch and staff turnover is very low. Sixth graders have a difficult new reality after being coddled in Rock Hill's elementary schools, and they grow up a lot in the first six weeks. Expectations of kids are high, and eighth graders are more than prepared for high school. The demographic mix is good, so the school is not ruled by affluent kids and designer labels. The arts programs are top notch -- better in many respects than Rock Hill's high schools.

this school is trying to do their best. but they need to go a little faster. the halls are very dark and the mirros in the bathrooms are absolutly disgusting! the teahcers in 7th grade are mostly great teachers. Mrs. Mayo has done a great job teaching me!

This schools profile is not up to date. They have redone the entire outside of the school, new parking lots, 15 tennis courts, new offices. the part of the school the children are in is ran down, Halls are dark, no soap or soap despensers in any bathroom in the entire school, The lockers are the same as they were when I attended there 28 years ago rusted and desgusting. this school only has two teachers in the entire sixth grade that the children aren't terrified of.
