Wow, I have read some of the other reviews and am shocked that parents actually think their children are receiving a quality education. My child has attended 4 schools due to my husbands job and this school takes the cake on poor performance. The teachers in general are difficult to keep in contact with, if your child does have a problem do not expect to here about it until grade reports come out. Due to the large volume of students in each class the teachers all seem to have difficulty keeping even the good students on task. I have no issues with my childs teacher now, but as a whole Sumter schools seem to be more worried about funding, pta events, and test scores then their true job educating students.

High Hills Elementary is a school that has changed my child's life. The teachers are extremely professional, educated, and caring. This could be a result of their leadership. Ms. Compton and Mr. Thompson are an amazing team, working together as principal and assistant principal to make High Hills a safe and effective school environment. There is a sense of community at High Hills that is unique. This school community makes my child feel comfortable in and excited about school. I would advise any parent new or old to the area to allow their child to have their own amazing experience at High Hills Elementary.

This school is the 'better' choice of your options. The mindset of this ignorant community is prevalent everywhere. This is a failing school but the other options are worse. 5th grade has been much better. Ms. Odom and Ms. Miles and Ms. Aycock are wonderful professionals and they have re kindled the love of learning my daughter has begun to loose. Homework is still toooo much.

My daughter is in her 2nd year at High Hills, too. She loves it. The teachers are wonderful, safety has never been an issue, and the communication is great.

I think the school is o.k, It's not bad like other parents make it sound. In any school I think there needs to be more security, activities ect...My daughter has been picked on but it's normal, I address the issues when they arise and they are taken care of by the teachers.

My child really enjoyed being at High Hills Elementary this year. Her ELA/SS teacher instilled an interest in learning and most importantly for school. I would highly recommend this school to others. My child will be going on to middle school next year and she is looking forward to it. The principal at High Hills is great.

I dont recommed that you send your child to this school. This school is not worried about the safety of your child in the class room.
