Who ever thinks that everyone going to Dorchester Academy is for STATUS is sadly mistaken. You will have issues anywhere you choose to send your children (politics & egos included). I send my children there because I have a choice to send them there or to the public school that is full of gangs, drugs, and children that have no parental support and guidance. There is always room for improvement and I think DA is on the right track.

Would like to see more team spirit between the faculity members that may inspire the students as well as the parents. Lack of leadership shown for the PTO of 2009. This school could be a great source of education if he petty politics and egos were left at the door.

This is an excellent school. My children are college graduates and owe alot to the teachers and administration for their guidance. If you want the teachers and administration to raise your children don't send them here, if you want your child challenged this is a great school!

This school has serious lack of education issues. Children that go from beginning to end have to take basic classes when they get to college in order to be at par. It is sad especially when you have to pay for the education. You would think if you had to pay for it it would be good but it is not. In Saint George it is more of a status thing anyway. If you care about education send them somewhere else if you don't care and just want to be in the crowd and have status then Dorchester Academy is right for you. I am not the only parent who has had to pull there child out and Homeschool all summer so they would not be behind.

About these ratings

The Community Rating is the school’s average rating from its community members (e.g., parents, students, and school staff). The highest possible rating is five stars; the lowest is one star.

We currently do not have any test score information for this school. Unlike public schools, private schools are not always required to report data about their schools or not required to take the same tests as public schools. Many private schools take different standardized tests; however, that information is often made available only to families of enrolled students. We strive to acquire additional private school data whenever available.
