In 1975, I attended 5th grade as Edward W. Jackson. Homeroom, was Mrs. Myers. I was beaten with a huge wooden paddle, by the principle of the day, because I would not admit that I called a little girl the "N" word! I only hope, that this teacher, and this principal, are no longer in charge of children anymore. They stank! As for the school, in 1975. It was not a bad place, except for those two. I never forgot my mistreatment in 1975. And, I can only hope that the students today, will have better treatment by the sucessors of this school. My mother used to volunteer in the library, at the time. My father was stationed at Shaw AFB. We moved on to Florida, afterwords. I am still rankled, at the horrible treatment, I had at the hands of Mrs. Myers, who was a terrible role model for children. Her favorate saying, was "Oh, Really!" with a limp wrist. Trying, and failing to act like a "Southern Belle!" Shame on you, Mrs. Myers! And, shame on the "board of education!" For the three licks, I received that day, did not damp my resolve, for the day, corporal punishment was banned, from the hands of administrators, who abused it!

I have three children that go to this school. It is a wonderful school. The teachers are highly qualified and are so great with the children. The halls are painted with different pictures that make the school very beautiful. I volunteer there alot and the programs that they offer are excellent. My oldest daughter is going into the 5th grade this year and she has made strait A's in every subject every year since she has been here. My other two are just going into first grade and preschool but I expect they will do that well also because the school is a fantastic one.

This is an excellent school. Leadership is outstanding. The standards are high and the students are in a safe, caring environment. The school is very well kept and creates a very good, clean learning environment for the students. The leadership has changed, the same expectations still apply. Great school!
