School highlights:
I went to this school when I was a child, and it was a great school back then, as so was the neighborhood surrounding it. It is my hopes that everything somehow returns to that period or status again (the great part about it all anyway), because the children deserve that much from we as adults now. I came here wondering about how to review the year books from the early seventies or late sixties at Cherryvale School. Does anyone know if one can do this?
The teachers and staff at Cherryvale really care about the students
I am a parent and grandparent of children who attended Cherryvale, it is a school that I have been proud to have them attend and proud to have it in my community, after my retirement in 2002 I came back as a Crossing Guard (I was a former Crossing Guard ) the first few years back we had problems with some of the children, since Ms. Pressley came as Principal she has worked with the Crossing Guards and has made many improvements, like day and night and I am sure she has made the same kind of improvements on the inside. This year she changed the way the riders are picked up and that has helped with the traffic problem and also made it safer for the walkers. Cherryvale Crossing Guard
My son attended Cherryvale half a year last year and half a year the year before that. He had a wonderful teacher in kindergarten, not so good in 1st but sitll ok. He had problems on the bus, but they were not atypical of elemantary school children. I decided to enroll him there this year and with a more hands on apeal with his teacher and other staff. I'm sure with me working with him at home and proper instructional tools from his teacher, my child will have a stellr year. I teach him by example to look for the good in people so I hope this will stick by him this year. You know the older they get, the more pressure they face. We as parents should band together to help keep this school together. For our children's sakes, let's take part and be more active with our kids.
My child transferred to Cherryvale this school year. We have experienced problems with bullying. We feel the school did not respond approprately when handling the situation by informing us and the other child's parent. Another sad thing is that my child has gone from a AB Honor student to making Ds. The teachers do not seem to be very supportive.
My child has went to this school since the 1st grade and this was a wonderful school with some of the best teacher ever.Until this year.now there seems to be teachers who are not there for the child and who do not want to work with the parent.I am sad that now cherryvale is no longer the school it once was.
