I am still on the fence about some of the strategies and overall attitudes of staff. The staff rarely smiles and seems to focus more on the negative attributes of students rather than reinforcing their gifts. There is also a new measure by the school to take role at church...this is very disturbing. If you are found to be an inactive Catholic, by their standards...you pay an extra $1500 a year. Some organization is needed in notifying parents of events...and their are other teaching methods besides worksheets.
Saint Elizabeth Seton School is wonderful. I am highly pleased with this school. The teachers are great as well as the counsilors and principles. This is a great choice of schools because the students learn as well as have fun.
We currently have 3 children enrolled at St. Elizabeth Seton grade school and are extremely pleased with the high academic and social standards required of all students. Children are encouraged to excel with above-average parental involvement and staff support.
St. Elizabeth Seton is a phenominal school! The Love & Logic approach is used on a daily basis and all children are held responsible for their own actions. We currently have 3 children enrolled and we are so excited about their enthusiasm and love of learning! Seton's S.A.T. scores for the 2002/2003 school year were typically 30% above the state average. The administration and staff are some of the most loving and faith-filled people we have ever met. Although Rapid City has very good elementary public schools, St. Elizabeth Seton has the advantage in that they can really stress the overall character formation of the child by focusing on Christ-centered learning in addition to general academics. The elementary years are so crucial to an individual's life-long habits and performance abilities and I am so thrilled with every aspect of St. Elizabeth Seton's policies and procedures.
