I have an 8yr old daughter diagnosed with language/auditory processing disorder. I am looking for some feedback about private schools in the atlanta area that might be good for her. I have research and visited the Howard and Swift school. Does anyone have any feedback on these schools...I am new in this world of learning differences and would love any input someone might have- Thanks

You might want to try posting on the site that I have provided a link to below:
http://groups.yahoo.com/group/GA-ChildrensNetwork/?yguid=129290173

It is a list serve of Georgia parents that may know more about the schools around the Atlanta area.

I don't have any knowledge, but here's a link to a review and some comments:

http://www.ldresources.org/?p=1320

Here are some past conversations from the schwablearning board:

There are more discussions at www.schwablearning.org there for archives. Schwab is now part of greatschools. Go to the schwab site, hit connect to go to the parent message boards and search them for the other schools. Lots of past discussions.

Just wanted to say that LD resources posted a very accurate review of my son's school. But like anything, I would urge you to check it out for yourself. Go on a tour, speak with administration and parents.

Good luck!

i live in aus so i dont no the schools but a small school is the best school your child could go to,unless there is extra help..children with auditory processing need one on one learning or with head phones and specific instructions written down for them..use lots of visual pix and give them as much home help as you can...good luck
